More Homeland Security

Spent the night out on the docks helping with a regatta for the New York City Council. It seems that there is some idea that terrorists are going to attack the World Financial Center from the water so there is a security guard standing at the top of the pier checking ID and nobody knows what is going on. It also seems that every time a J24 goes out the Coast Guard is all uptight. I hate to say it but even if you could get a bomb on a J24 it isn't going to do much damage to buildings on the other end of a seawall.

Not for nothing, but we have 29 of these boats out on the water, all with radios. Maybe instead of seeing us as a threat or an inconvenience maybe we could be seen as an asset. We could be out on the water looking for trouble instead of being seen as trouble. Just a thought, but just like that J24 isn't much of a threat that rent-a-cop isn't much protection. We are in a damn heap of trouble and all we seem to do about it is run around airports with our shoes off and look busy.
